Dan B. Jenkins, age 71, of Franklin, Tennessee died Wednesday, March 28 at TriStar Centennial Hospital in Nashville. His family was by his side. Dan was born on August 19, 1946 in Wadesboro, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd B. and Allie Mae Henry Jenkins.
Dan attended Wingate College and graduated from Wake Forest University, with a BA in history. Dan was retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company where he had been employed since 1968, in several positions, the longest of which were Claims manager and Regional sales manager.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Edith Herring Jenkins, a son, Dr. Michael Jenkins (Larissa) of Panama City, Florida, and two grandchildren, Chance Michael Jenkins and Piper Reese Jenkins. Harpeth Hills Funeral Home of Nashville, Tn. will handle arrangements. Visitation at 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial at 2:00 p.m. celebrating Dan's life will be held at Harpeth Hills on Highway 100, on Monday, April 2nd. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center and Saint Jude Children's Hospital will be appreciated.
