WHITMORE, Davey Benjamin – Age 74 passed away on December 27, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 21, 1938. He was preceded in death by parents, William Edward Whitmore and Maxie Lee Posey Whitmore. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret; son, Craig Gretta; grandson, Tyler; nieces, Dawn Burke Don, Rachel Freeny, Edith Jeffrey Robert; cousins, Charlotte Maude Thompson Harding, Jack Conrad Thompson; and other extended family, Madison Moritz Bob, Jonathan Jordan Schandera, and their children, and Randy Moore. Davey graduated from David Lipscomb High School and Bowling Green Business University. He was a CPA and had his own accounting practice before retirement. He continued to work in tax accounting part time up until his death. Davey loved people, pets and conversation, and was a friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed the simple things in life and sharing with those less fortunate. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to share his life stories. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 2pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with the Reverend Joey Drumright officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm and last until service time. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Nashville Humane Association.
