David Eugene Brannon, Sr, age 67 of Nashville, passed away at his residence on April 5, 2017.
A native of Maury County, David was the son of Fred Edward Brannon and Ruby Elizabeth Hardy Brannon.
From an early age David knew the value of work. Raised on the family farm, he understood the meaning of hard work and providing for the family. For 27 years he even walked to work at the cedar mill on Hwy 100. His only goal was to provide for his family.
As a young couple, he and his wife, Linda loved to dance. In his free time, he was a shark at shooting pool and was known to win often at the poker table.
David will be remembered as an outgoing individual who spent a great deal of time outside in nature where he was most at home. He loved his family and friends but held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As every woman knows, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. David's love for Linda's cooking was well known. His favorite was her fried chicken and meatloaf, but he always saved room for her cherry pie!
To honor and celebrate his life, David is survived by his wife of over 48 years: Linda Crowder Brannon; 4 children: Janie Brannon, David Eugene "Joe" Brannon, Jr, Angela Brannon and Lacey Brannon; 4 siblings: Jerry Brannon, Jeff Brannon, Bobby Brannon and Beth White; 8 grandchildren: Cassey Brannon, Michael Lee Walker, Troy Walker, Tabitha Christina Goldtrap, Jasmine Moore, Destiny Wakefield, William Richard Vavra and Ashley Greene; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, and again on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday at 11:30 AM in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
