David J. McCullough, age 54 of Kingston Springs, finished his earthly journey in the early morning of April 18th.

He was the son of James Irving McCullough and Nina Charlene Reed, born October 28, 1962 in the City of Cavite, in the Philippines, where his father was stationed with the Navy.

He received his undergraduate degree in Music and Masters in Biblical Studies from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville.

David was an accomplished vocalist and private pilot, who held an Instructor's rating. He was task and goal oriented, yet maintained a focused balance in his life. Never forsaking his family, he kept his priorities in place, being led by the knowledge and belief that God placed him in circumstances to bring glory to Him. David would listen to facts and information, and through the gift of leadership, make wise, well-thought out decisions.

Much of David's life was public - his ministry, service to his community and even his battle with health issues. He was a Pastor at Cedar Hill Church for over 30 years. He spent the last 20 years in public service, spending the past six years as Cheatham County Mayor. The private part of David's life was as a humble teacher, dedicated husband, proud father, loving grandfather and faithful child of God. His faith came first in all walks of his life.

He lived life with no regrets. He taught everyone around him, completed the tasks put before him, found value in all people and lived by the words, "People are watching - let them see Jesus."

David leaves, to cherish his memory, his wife of 31 years: Megan Spruill McCullough; a daughter and son-in-law, and co-pastors: Elizabeth and Andrew Strunk; daughter: Emma Breelyn McCullough; three grandsons: Mason James, Caleb Thomas and Oliver Reed Strunk; his father: Jim McCullough; step-father: J. C. Russell; in-laws and mentors: Mary and James Spruill; sister & brother-in-law: Angela and Jerry Jacobsen; brother: Gary McCullough; step-brother: Kelly Russell; brothers-in-law: Mark and John Spruill; sisters-in-law: Tamera and Tiffany Spruill; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

David's life will be celebrated as he lived...in worship. Pegram Church of Christ will host friends and family as they gather for visitation on Saturday, April 22 at 12:00 pm. A time of Worship and Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 pm, focusing on the words that David spoke in his final days, "God is good...and Jesus is so real!"

Burial will follow the services at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
