David Walker, Sr.

David L Walker, Sr., passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Alive Hospice. He was born on April 4, 1927 in Nashville, TN.

Preceded in death by wife Christine Coggin Walker and sons John Carlton and Daniel Edward Walker.

He is survived by sons David “Larry” Walker, Jr (Carolyn), Stephen Walker (Susan), grandchildren Lauren Walker, Benjamin (Jamie) Walker, Lindsay Walker Taylor, Ashley Walker: Great grandchildren Chace and Addie Taylor, Walker Kaplinger, McKinley and Marshall Walker.

David graduated from Cohn High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and served in WWII. He retired from Ennis Business Forms in 1992.

David was a member of Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ (Now Charlotte Heights). He was an avid reader and follower of financial markets, enjoyed golfing and dancing. His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him great joy. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Pallbearers: Benjamin Walker, Chace Taylor, Johnny Bruce, Rick Armstrong, Derrick Coggin, Drew Sullivan, Bob Brown, Warren Denney and honorary, Tom Wright.

Visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 11:00 to 12:00 with a celebration of life at 12:00.
