Diane Edmondson Craver, age 73 of Kingston Springs, TN, passed peacefully on August 6, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Nashville. She was surrounded by her loving family and faithful dog as she went to be with the Lord. She fought a valiant fight against cancer, and her attitude and faith inspired others.

Diane was born July 16, 1944 and raised in Tazewell, Tennessee and Monroe, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Herman Edmondson and Eva Sutton Edmondson.

Diane dedicated her life to helping and guiding others. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she earned her Master's Degree in Social Work. Following college, where she met and married Will Skelton, they travelled extensively and enjoyed camping, hiking, and canoeing.

Following her separation, Diane and Will remained friends. She moved to California where she continued working in Social Work. She then relocated to Nashville and began a 35+ year career with the Department of Children's Services with the State of Tennessee. She had the true heart of a social worker and showed compassion for all.

Her second marriage was blessed by the birth of her daughter, Erica. As a single mother, Diane and Erica grew very close and not only developed a strong mother-daughter relationship, but forged a friendship that many only dream about. Diane will be remembered for her love of others, her volunteer spirit and determination to provide for her daughter. She was kind and talented as well, serving others through her church, delivering Meals-On-Wheels, volunteering often and loving animals.

In addition to her daughter, Erica Adkins, Diane is survived by her son-in-law Jason, and granddaughter, Madison. She is also survived by her sister, Glenda Drinkhahn, and brother-in-law, Don Drinkhahn of Greenville, SC, as well as her nephews, Ted and Ryan Drinkhahn, and her many life-long friends.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 10 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home on Highway 100 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, and again on Friday, August 11 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM at Kingston Springs United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM at Kingston Springs United Methodist Church with Reverend Adam Kelchner officiating. Burial in the Garden of Peace at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens will follow the service.
