Dianne Wood

Mrs. Dianne Horton Wood age 73, of Franklin, TN. passed away on July 14, 2021 with her loving family by her side.

Dianne was born in Newton, MS. on September 8, 1947 to the late James McKendree Horton and Lillian O’Kelley Horton.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother; Douglas Horton.  Dianne was married to her husband, Al, for 51 years.  She has a BS in Nursing and a MS in Health Services Administration.  She and Al loved to travel, visiting national and state parks. Dianne was an avid reader, often reading multiple books at a time.   She enjoyed attending the International Ballet Competition held in Jackson, MS.  Dianne served in many capacities over the years in her church.  She was an Elder, a Stephen Minister, a Stephen Leader and served on the Worship Committee.  One of her favorite things was volunteering for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her husband; Al Wood, daughter; Breeon (Duncan) Phillips, and son; Dylan Wood, grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, and Jack Phillips, and sister; Denise (Burl) Johnson.

Visitation with the Wood family will begin at 9 AM, Monday, July 26, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church, 101 Legends Club Lane, Franklin, Tn.  Funeral services to follow at 10 AM.  Committal services for close family members will be held at 2:00 pm at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN. 37221.
