BRACEY, Donald Hugh- Age 86, November 19, 2012. Born on July 3, 1926 in Nashville, TN to Charles Richard Bracey and Lela Maude Felts, the fifth of their 13 children. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathryn Bracey Tarr, Charlcey Iris Bracey, Sue Bracey Hailey, Mary Ellen Bracey Clark; brothers, Nathan Nellis Bracey, G.W. Bracey. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Allen Bracey; daughters, Donna Bracey Stewart, Debbie Bracey Gott Randy; grandchildren, Christina Stewart Barnes Jonathan, Kathryn Stewart Holliday Robert, Radford Carlton Stewart, IV Tish, Bracey Melissa Stewart, Emily Gott Kusak Kevin, Elizabeth Gott Homik J.P., Randall Stewart Gott; great-grandchildren, Jean Louise, Virginia, Charlotte and Elizabeth Barnes, Robert, Lilly and Ruth Allen Holliday, Evelyn Wiley Stewart and Lillie Elizabeth Kusak; siblings, Faye Bracey Whitson, Frances Bracey Pilkington, Charles Richard Bracey, Jr., Franklin Dee Bracey, Thomas Cordell Bracey and Patsy Bracey Dauscha. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Block Island in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company in 1983 after working in TN, FL and GA. He helped establish Holly Hill Church of Christ in Daytona Beach, FL. He served as a deacon there and at San Jose Church of Christ in Jacksonville, FL. He was a member of Decatur Church of Christ in Atlanta, GA from 1975-1984 and a member of Harpeth Hills Church of Christ since 1984. A memorial service will be at 11:30 am with visitation starting at 9:30 am on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Harpeth Hills Church of Christ, 1949 Old Hickory Blvd, Brentwood. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 223 Rosa L. Parks Avenue, Suite 301 Nashville, Tennessee 37203.
