Donald Eugene Curtis was born on October 5, 1934, in Lewisburg, Tennessee. He departed this world peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Dickson, Tennessee.
Don is preceded in death by his loving wife Marjory Curtis and his mother Maggie Curtis who he cherished very much.
He is lovingly remembered by his stepdaughters, Cheryl Arnold and Debbie Plunkett; step-grandchildren, Wesley Stinson, Christina Britt, Briana Plunkett Potter and Joseph Eslick; step-great grandchildren Savannah Stinson, Hannah Stinson, Ava Eslick, Archer Eslick, and Emerson Eslick, and very special cousin, Linda Bradford, and her husband Curly.
A man of few words, Don possessed a quiet and reserved demeanor that drew people toward him. His gentle nature and loyalty made him a beloved figure among those lucky enough to know him. Don's life was enriched by the passions he pursued, particularly his love for deep-sea fishing and the many sun-soaked trips to Florida during his younger years. He found joy in the thrill of NASCAR, where cheering for his favorite driver, Chase Elliott, brought excitement.
Don was not just a devoted sports enthusiast; he was also a proud member of Bellevue Baptist Church for many years. The church community held a special place in his heart, and it saddened him greatly when illness prevented him from attending services. Nevertheless, his deep faith remained a source of strength and comfort throughout his life.
He leaves behind not just a legacy, but a reminder of the importance of love, faith, and togetherness in our lives. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
