Donna Marie Dean, beloved Mother and Grandmother, age 70, passed away August 18, 2017.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Layman.

She is survived by her daughter, Dee Dee Sullivan (Lance); grandsons, Landon Sullivan, Matt Sullivan and Zach Sullivan (Brittany).

Donna was born October 14, 1946 in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated from Hixson High School in 1964 where she was a cheerleader, voted "most popular", was Homecoming Queen and was voted Miss Hixson High School. She later graduated from UT Chattanooga with a degree in Finance and Economics.

She worked at J.C. Bradford & Company in Chattanooga where she was one of the first women brokers there in 19 years. When she moved to the Bradford Nashville office she became one of the first women Partners in 62 years. She also worked for Nike Securities, Alive Hospice, volunteered at Vanderbilt with F.T.D. Association for memory loss, and she was AARP Tennessee State President as her most recent "Retired" job.

She loved to travel the world. Some of her favorite places were Center Hill Lake, Myrtle Beach, SC., and Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. In her free time she loved visiting the Symphony, the Frist Museum and going to watch her grandson Landon excel in swimming and basketball. She was a faithful Tennessee Titans Football fan and supported them since the team made Tennessee their home.

She considered Zig Ziglar, John Felber and Prof. Ziad Keilany at UT Chattanooga to be very influential to her in her life and career.

A Memorial Service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life to follow from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday at The Pavilion at Harpeth Hills.
