A much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died on March 5 at the age of 85. She is survived by her daughters Deborah Friedli Durrett (her husband, Robert S. Durrett) and Myra Friedli Moreland; and her grandchildren, Shannon Howard Durrett, (his wife Elizabeth Loyd,) Blythe Elizabeth Durrett Browne (her husband Timothy J. Browne), Elizabeth Blair Moreland Rodriguez (her husband Raymond A. Rodriguez) Adrienne Layne Moreland Bryant (her husband Joshua D. Bryant)and Jackson Stewart Moreland. Her loving great-grandchildren include: Hutton and Rollin Durrett, Ellis and Weston Browne, Harper and Thompson Rodriguez and Jayden Bryant. The daughter of Mary and Lorenzo Gower, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Howard P. Friedli, her parents, brother and sister. Doris was known for her great spirit of joy and her undying devotion to her family. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday March 12 at 11:00 am at Harpeth Heights Baptist Church where she worshiped for more than 65 years. Interment will be at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are her five grandsons (grandsons in law). Honorary Pallbearers will be " the ladies of the 1946 class of Bellevue High School": Virginia Sue Harris, Irene Willis, Maxine Spaulding and Dot Mason. Visitation will be Tuesday evening March 11 from 5-8pm at Harpeth Hills and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Wednesday.
