Dr. Anthony (Tony) Alan Meluch, a believer of living life to the fullest, peacefully passed away on March 26, 2024, in Nashville, TN. Born on March 29, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, Tony's life journey was characterized by a profound commitment to and love of God, his family, friends, and patients.
Dr. Meluch leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Survived by his wife of 32 years, Faye Meluch, his two sons, Christopher and Chase, his mother, Kathleen Meluch, siblings, Mark Meluch, Maribeth (Jud) Meluch, Julie (Allen) Sparks, Jacque (Dave) Deranek, Kris (Tom) Madrid, and numerous other loving family members, he is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Ralph E. Meluch, whose memory he honored throughout his life.
Dr. Meluch graduated from St. Ignatius High School and St. Louis University with honors before pursuing his medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. There he completed his medical training, followed by postgraduate studies in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
His professional journey was marked by a tireless pursuit of excellence and compassion. As a partner and past board member of Tennessee Oncology, he touched countless lives through his expertise and unwavering dedication to his patients and their care and well-being. He believed that caring for his patients and assisting his colleagues was a calling and never tired of that work, practice, and commitment.
Outside of medicine, Tony found solace and joy in a myriad of hobbies, including participating in triathlons, skiing, running, biking, swimming and hiking. He held a deep appreciation for nature, finding peace in the serene beauty of Deer Valley, where he cherished moments spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his love of the outdoors, his passion for wine was well known, evident in his joy of collecting wines, enjoying good meals with friends and family, and attending wine events. Additionally, his unwavering allegiance to The Ohio State University remained a steadfast aspect of his life, cheering on the Buckeyes as often as possible.
Tony was an active member of the HOPE ministry at St Henry Catholic Church, where his faith and compassion shone brightly. In lieu of flowers, his family requests contributions to St. Henry's Prayer Garden and Courtyard in honor of Tony's memory.
Services to honor and celebrate the extraordinary life of Dr. Anthony A. Meluch will be held at St. Henry Catholic Church, located at 6401 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205 on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Visitation will commence at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am. A graveside Service will follow at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, located at 9090 Highway 100, Nashville, TN 37221.
Additionally, a Celebration of Life reception will be held from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Loveless Barn, where friends and loved ones can gather to share memories and honor Dr. Meluch's remarkable life.
Dr. Meluch's profound influence on his profession, his community, and the lives he touched will be remembered with admiration and gratitude. His legacy of compassion, excellence, and unwavering dedication will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him.
