Dr. Margaret Eleanore Dew Dalzell
July 1, 1941 - January 9, 2019

Margaret passed away at her home in Nashville, TN. on January 9, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Dalzell, and her older sister Marilyn Maisano Savage in Glasgow, Virginia and other nieces and nephews.

Her childhood years were spent growing up in Delaware, Indiana, Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Oklahoma with her three siblings; Tom, Marilyn and Deborah.

She attended the Wilmington Friends School in Wilmington Delaware, graduating from there in 1959.

She attended Guilford College at Guildford, North Carolina, graduating from there in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree, bs 1963

Following graduation from Guilford, Margaret worked briefly as a research scientist with E.I duPont de Nemours and Company Biological Research Laboratories in Newark, Delaware.

Margaret received an MS degree in Pharmacology from Georgetown University in 1968, and completed her Ph. D at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1975.

She also completed 2 years of post doctoral work with the Max Planck Institute in Frankfort, Germany.

Margaret was an ardent crusader for the environment, working for the TN EPA and various environmental engineering consulting firms on site remediation projects and superfund sites. She was highly certified and started her own consulting firm, Dew & Associates in the early 1990s.

Margaret has always believed in the positive power of helping others and has made it a priority that has touched so many around her. She will be lovingly remembered and missed greatly.
