Dwight Earl Long

Dwight Earl Long age 77, went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2024. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Rev. Donald Earl Long and Mary Beth Scott Long. Grandparents Idelle and Cecil Earl Long, Nathaniel and Mable Scott.

He was born in Madisonville, KY but grew up in Hopkinsville, KY. He graduated from Hopkinsville High School and Austin Peay University. He held accounting and CPA degrees. He started his career at Genesco Inc. and went on to hold positions at Hospital Affiliates, Columbia and Hospital Corp. of America where he was the VP of accounting. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Carolyn Morris Long, son Christopher Earl Long (Christie), granddaughters Caitlyn Long O’Brien (Philip), Rebekah Long (Nick Goshern), and great granddaughter Nora Long, also missing him is sister Vicki (Charlie) Carothers, stepsisters Janet Cannon, Laura Masterson, and Jill Powell aunt Glee Long Bell (Johnny) and Alton Scott (Peggy) plus cousins, nieces, nephews, coworkers and friends. 

Informal memorial services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 1:00pm ~ 5:00pm at The Pavilion at Harpeth Hills. There will be an opportunity for anyone who would like to share a fond memory of Dwight. The burial will take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11:00am at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
