With his family at his side, Floyd Dwight Terwilliger, Jr, age 67 of Nashville, passed away March 7, 2017 at the Residence at Alive Hospice.

Dwight was born July 17, 1949 in Lebanon, TN and was the son of the late Floyd Dwight Terwilliger, Sr and Alice Ward Terwilliger, who survives.

Dwight had the privilege of working side by side with his father as a millwright. Their bond deepened from father/son to co-workers and friends. He was an honest and loving man, who cared deeply for his wife and children. Though stubborn at times, he was willing to help out a friend in their time of need. Dwight was a fiercely loyal friend, but just a quick to move on to other relationships when you broke the bond of trust.

He served his country in the United States Army as a medic, stationed in Germany.

In his free time he loved horses, catfishing and coon-hunting, and even spent time with his game roosters.

Preceded in death by his father and a brother: Stephen Terwilliger; he is survived by his mother: Alice Terwilliger; his wife: Linda Crowe Terwilliger; four children: Dwight (Brandi) Terwilliger III, Morgan Jane (Chad Mackey) Terwilliger, Winston Terwilliger and Cody (Angela) Terwilliger; four siblings: Nancy (Noel) Harding, James Lewis Terwilliger, Alice Jane Williams and Shelia Terwillger Reese; and four grandchildren: Dwight Terwilliger IV, Dakota Terwilliger, Kaiden Mackey and Addison Mackey.

Dwight's family will gather with friends at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 for visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors provided by the United States Army, will follow in Garden of Serenity at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
