Earl Eugene Craig, age 85 of Kingston Springs, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 11, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Earl was born in What Cheer, Iowa on March 24, 1930 to the late Arthur & Ella Craig.
Earl served his country for 24 years, retiring in 1973 as a Sgt. Major from the US Army. He proudly served his Country and was a decorated Veteran and Bronze Star recipient earned during his service in Vietnam. After his military career he along with close friend the late Bernie Dodge started TIS (Transportation Insurance Service.) He retired again in 1996. Earl continued to work and play with his passion of being a Gentleman Farmer, he spoke often of growing up in Iowa and working on the family farm. Earl also enjoyed his lifetime passion of fishing and hunting with many close friends, these trips led him to remote locations in Canada and Alaska. Earl was a Master Mason and a member of the Oberammergau Germany Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Dorothy Fitzgerald, Mudd Craig and Leonard Craig.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Millie Craig; children, Roy Craig, Lesa (Steve) Beasley, Joe (Hillary) Craig, Sally Steele & Sonja Jean Craig; siblings, Flo Hill, Kay Quinn & Dean Craig; grandchildren, Justin Beasley, Daniel Beasley, Taylor Craig, Anna Beth Craig, Caleb Craig & Charlotte Craig. Great grandchildren, Jaxton Beasley, Landyn Beasley.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home where a celebration of Earl's life will be conducted at 3:00 pm. A Masonic service will take place at 2:00. Interment will take place on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 9:00 am in Middle Tennessee Veteran Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St Jude Children's Hospital in loving memory of Earl E. Craig.
