Edward Benton Sterling- Age 78, June 24, 2014. Survived by his daughters, Lisa Hamilton and Elaine Demonbreun; 5 grandchildren. He received a Bachelors of Education from UT and was a graduate of Vanderbilt School of Theology. He received a Masters of Social Work from Washington University. He worked for Mayor Beverly Briley as a City Planner and Advisor. He work as a Research Consultant to the Mayor's office and developed many programs. He was an Executive Director of Metropolitan Human Resource Development, Metropolitan Administration of Justice Planning and United Methodist Urban Ministries. He was a Senior Social Work Supervisor and an Advisor on many committees that dealt with social and human service. He was also a Program Developer of Home 2, Inc. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:30 pm on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
