Edwin Austin Groves, born on October 31, 1944 in Orlinda, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Edwin Groves, his mother, Mary Batts Anderson, and his brother, Harold Thomas Groves. He is survived by his wife, Linda Flatt Groves, his two sons, Edwin Alan Groves (Tracey) and Curtis Martin Groves (Faith), his six grandchildren, and his brother Gordon Anderson Groves (Diana). Ed served as a deacon in his church and was active in the bus ministry. After his service in the Army, Ed worked as a Nashville real estate broker for 30+ years. He enjoyed eating around the table with his family, playing golf, and traveling (especially to Florida during the winter months). Ed will be remembered for many things, but especially for his love for the lost and his generous spirit.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 5-8pm and Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 10-11am at Bellevue Baptist Church. A Life Celebration Service will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11am at Bellevue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers are T.C. Groves, Alan Groves Jr., Matthew Groves, Billy Ray Castelow, Jody Duncan, Larry Parris, and Tyler Groves. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Molteni, Bob Julian, and Ron Buck.
