Mary Elizabeth (Lib) Rogers Williams went to be with the Lord peacefully on October 21, 2017. She passed from this earth surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in 1929 to Ernest and Golda Rogers in Seymour Tennessee. Lib graduated from Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy and received her nursing degree from Baptist Memorial Hospital and a Bachelor of Arts from Belmont College. She married Dr. Benton Williams in 1951. Elizabeth and Benton were appointed Missionaries by the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board, and spent fourteen years of their married life serving the Lord in Thailand. After leaving Thailand they continued their mission work in the States, Brazil, Kenya and Russia. After returning to Nashville, Lib served as Director of the International Women's program for 35 years where she taught English, American culture, and the Bible. She was an active member of Woodmont Baptist Church.

Lib was a loving wife and mother. She had a genuine servant's heart and lived her life loving others for the glory of God. In her many roles in this life as a missionary, nurse, pastor's wife, mother, grandmother and friend- she loved well and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benton, and her daughter, Deborah Thoman Baumstark. She is survived by her daughters: Beverly Bruce, Becky Williams, Cindy Rich; grandchildren: Tim Scarbrough, Daphne Elmore, Carmen Rich Andonian, Dustin Thoman, Amanda Almond and Anthony Rich; 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 - 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26 at Woodmont Baptist Church with services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson Street. Nashville Tennessee.
