Elsie Grace (Succop) Lautner
Elsie Grace was born into this world April 1, 1939. Jesus Christ granted her new life as she was baptized into Him May 7th 1939. Elsie suffered the last two months of her life and finally and peacefully entered into the rest of her Savior, Tuesday January 9th 2018 at 4:30 am.
Elsie lived a life defined by her middle name "Grace", she loved all without judgement, she laughed hard, she was always ready to be a little silly. She gave love to her husband George. She loved her son's David and George even when they were less than what she expected, she loved her precious daughter in law, Christine. She beamed when she spoke of her grandchildren, Andrew and Hannah. We, her family, often took her grace for granted, but now look back and recall it with fondness and love. We pray that someday we too will be used by God for His glory.
Elsie loved well, and often spoke of her dear friends she left behind in Pennsylvania. She loved her church, and the ladies she hung out with in circle. She taught grace to her Sunday School kids, many who have continued to recall the impact she had on their lives. Every where we go we find people who claim to be Elsie's unofficial adopted children. That is impressive , from her children on Varner Road, her dear friends in Brookline and Whitehall and Bethel Park, her legacy of love is well known.
It was mentioned prior to now how Elsie loved her daughter in law Christine. She often said if she had to choose between Christine and her son George, Christine would get the nod. Elsie also spoke of the great blessing of Christine's parents, George and Rose. She thought the world of them.
Elsie also loved her sister in law Dorothy. and her nieces and nephews and their husbands and wives and children.
Elsie had many friends, but some stood out as particularly close. They would be Julie Luta and Chuck and Virginia DiSalvo. Mom would want you to know how much you all meant to her. But then she would feel bad and add she all those who she counted as friends meant so much to her. Thank you all for loving mom.
The legacy continued to grow as she and George moved to Kingston Springs. New places meant new opportunities to share God's grace. So she did just that, loving those whom she came into contact. Most would say their lives were impacted positively as they encountered Ms. Elsie Grace.
Elsie was preceded in death by her father Charles and mother Esther. Charles who died at the age of forty four, when Elsie was a young child. Elsie's mom Esther raised her well as a single mom and taught her the meaning of grace. Esther was a dear soul with great faith in Jesus Christ.
Elsie was married to her husband George for 57 years, she loved him and her concern was always for him. Elsie raised two sons, David who lives in Kingston Springs, TN, and George who lives in Larimore, ND.
Elsie is survived by her husband George, her son's David and George, George's wife Christine, her grandchildren Andrew and Hannah. Elsie left behind many dear friends and family members, and she looked forward to the reunion of friends who preceded her into glory.
May Elsie's memory be cherished for the many ways she was used by God to proclaim His grace.
