Eugene Clayton Pullen, 94, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013.He was born in Hickman, Kentucky July 31, 1918. He entered the Army-Air Corps and served during WWII and the Korean War. During his distinguished 20 year military career, he provided aircraft maintenance support for the famous "Doolittle Raider" bombers. He was one of two survivors of a B25 bomber crash and had to swim to a nearby island until rescued. He was stationed at many bases around the world and retired as a MSGT from the US Air Force. After his military career, he relocated to Southern California and worked in the advertisement field until he was 75 years old. When he was around 90 years old he relocated to Hendersonville, Tennessee. He had the greatest memory, and could tell you the most detailed stories and not miss a thing. He enjoyed wearing his Stetson cowboy hat. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Rebecca Anderson Pullen, his son, Claude Douglas Pullen, his daughter, Donna Sue Pullen Lyon. He is survived by his companion, Gertrude Jeannie Craig and her immediate family. His 4 children, Eugene C. Pullen Jr, Eugenia R. Pullen Grove, Cathy E. Pullen Hanna and Deborah S. Pullen Jacobs; 13 grandchildren, Leesa Finley, Lisa Downie, Janet Dill, Sharon Britner, Rebecca Ferguson, Jeff Hanna, Brett Hanna, Jennifer Rashid, April Martin, Paul Lyon Jr., Dustin Lyon, Kellie Anderson and Tracey Jacobs; and 14 great-grandchildren, Liam Finley, Payton Downie, Ethan Downie, Landon Downie, Brenna Dill, Bailey Dill, Carson Britner, Raegan Britner, Hunter Norris, Shireen Rashid, Zain Rashid, Lily Anderson, Jacob Sabelli and Miles Sabelli. Interment will be at the Riverside National Veterans Cemetery, Riverside, California.
