Eva Fergerson, a beloved native of Nashville, Tennessee, was born on November 24, 1941. She departed from us on August 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy filled with laughter and memories.
Eva is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Potter and Louise Gilbert Potter; son, Roy O’Neal Barnes; sister, Glenda Potter Davis; brother, Austin Potter.
Eva is survived by her loving husband, George Fergerson; daughter, Tracy Goad (Todd); grandchildren, Brett Barnes (Tay), Bryant Barnes, BJ Givens (Chasie), Andy Givens (Chelsea), Jesse Givens (Samantha); great granddaughter, Mae Abel Givens (known as "Lily Belle" by Eva).
Eva was truly the life of the party and a beacon of joy whose presence brought warmth. Her love for life was palpable, especially in the busy streets of West Nashville, where she found her home and embraced the vibrant city life. Eva had an adventurous soul and was always eager to explore new places. She loved going to Tunica to play the slots and greatly enjoyed walking along the beach. She greatly enjoyed the simple pleasure of fishing.
Eva attended Cathedral High School, carrying the lessons of her youth into adulthood. Beyond her academic achievements, her true pride lay in her family. Eva found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, who were not only her proudest accomplishments but also the center of her world. She cherished every moment spent with them.
Eva had a passion for activities that brought people together. Bowling nights and dart games were some of her favorite pastimes. Her love for tulips was evident, where she tended to the colorful blooms with care.
As we remember Eva, we celebrate a life lived fully. She will forever remain in our hearts, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
