Frances Sybil Collins, age 78 of Nashville, passed away March 11, 2017 at Tristar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage.

A native of Leighton, AL, Sybil was the first of eight children of William Thomas Faulkner and Frances Viola Faulkner.

Sybil will be remembered as a fiercely independent woman who loved deeply, especially her family. She was quick witted with a hint of sarcasm and stubbornness mixed in. She enjoyed eating cornbread with buttermilk, reading and working Sudoku and Word Search puzzles. She also cared deeply for her dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Nora Claudette Curry and Andrea Dale Dillard; brother-in-law: Jerry Wayne Curry; and a niece: Billie Daphne Jeannette Hudson.

She is survived by three children: Toni (Jimmy) Tomlin, Terri (Randy) Barnes and Tommy (Lisa) Young; three siblings: Thomas (Sue) Faulkner, Billy Faulkner and Beverly Dozier; 9 grandchildren: Jason, Jaime, Alex, Amber, Josh, Alicia, Jeremy, Tayler and Codi; and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will gather with friends for visitation on Tuesday, March 14 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Barron Dillard, Brandon Dillard, Jason Barnes, Jeremy Barnes, Joshua Barnes and Landon Hunter.
