Frances Evelyn Davis

Frances Wood Davis, a beloved resident of Brentwood, Tennessee, peacefully departed this world on Friday, April 5, 2024. Born on August 10, 1936, Frances was the cherished daughter of the late David Wood Sr. and Ruth Snipes Wood. 

Frances was a beacon of strength and kindness, known for her unwavering faith in God, and her dedication to her family. She shared 47 beautiful years of marriage with the late W. Austin Davis, Sr., her soulmate and the love of her life. Frances’s love extended deeply to her family, and she found great joy in nurturing her relationships with them.

An avid gardener, Frances found solace and joy in planting flowers. She also found comfort in the pages of books and cherished the moments spent with her friends, always radiating warmth and kindness.

Above all, Frances treasured her role as “Memommie” to her three grandchildren, Lily McCullar, Daisy Davis, and Drew Davis. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she delighted in every moment spent with them.

Frances is preceded in death by her brother, Billy Wood.  She is survived by her daughter, Mindy McCullar (Jason), and her sons, Chris Davis (Gareth), and Austin Davis Jr. (Catherine).  Alongside her children, Frances leaves behind her brother, David Wood, and her sister, Myrtle Goff.

Frances Wood Davis will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
