FRANCES ELIZABETH FORTNER LYLE
AGE 93, NASHVILLE, TN

Preceded in death by husbands C. Raymond Fortner and Kenneth P. Lyle. Survived by children, Rhonda L. Thompson (Don) and Rebecca R. Chandler (Ron). She was the oldest of 12 children and is survived by siblings Catherine Marler, Alice Gallagher, Ann Edmondson, and David Cox, all of Memphis, TN.

Frances was employed for 25 years as insurance clerk at the Baptist Sunday School Board in Nashville, TN. She was active in church and community activities. She kept the nursery and taught Sunday School classes for the four and five-old children at Immanuel Baptist Church. She was named Woman of the Year by her chapter of the American Business Women's Association, and held many local and national offices in the West Nashville Chapter of the Women of the Moose.

Frances was known by all who knew her for her sweet smile and sense of humor, even when life got hard. A special and heartfelt gratitude to her card-playing and very special friends Judy, Daisy, Marie, and Naomi who helped fill the last several years of her life with laughter and comfort. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Memorial Fund at Happy Tales, Franklin TN for neglected and abused cats in Middle Tenn.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at St. Henry Catholic Church in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
