Frank Chytil

Stranger to no one, Frank passed away unexpectedly on July 7 after battling a relentless illness. He will be remembered and missed by all of those he befriended - pretty much everyone whose path he crossed. If ever asked about someone, his response would be that he knew them and then he would share a tidbit of enticing information to make the conversation interesting. He should have run for public office -- he would have won! He was also an avid sportsman and a great coach, playing soccer before "it was cool," not to mention hockey, tennis and golf.

A loving father to his son Frank, he was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia on April 6, 1954 to the late Dr. Frank and Lucie Chytil. Our sweet, big hearted talker, Frank, will be missed by his wife Marcela, son Frank, Frank's grandmother Matilda Brissova of Slovakia, and sisters Anna Brewer (Bill) and Helena Bewley, his niece Shannon and nephew Jackson. Also his cousins John Mucha (Sarah) of Dorset, England, Michalka Cerna, Vaclav Chytil and Jan Chytil (Veronika) of Prague, Czech Republic, Marise Maixner of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Daniel Kutvirt (Susan) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Zuzana Hostomska (Zdenek) of San Diego, California, aunt Helen Maixner of Brussels, Belgium, sister-in-law Katarina Durikova and her daughter Barbora of Slovakia, and many dear friends.

We send long, strong hugs to his big buddies: Joe Ray Woods, Harold Huggins, Bob Weigel, and Mike Gulley. We would all be so lucky to have such dear, loyal friends.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Henry Catholic Church.

Frank's family is appreciative of Vanderbilt's MICU as well as the kindness shown to us by our friends and the staffs of St. Henry's, Vanderbilt University and Harpeth Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be at St. Henry Catholic Church Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will also be at St. Henry on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 10:00 am.
