Frank S. Irlinger, Ed. D., J.D., P.E., C.Q.A. - Age 87, of Nashville, passed away June 24, 2017.

Dr. lrlinger had been until recently associate Professor and Department Head of the Mechanical, Industrial, Civil and Construction and Architectural Engineering Technologies at Nashville State Technical Institute. He received his Associate Degree in Applied Science in Machine Design at Pratt Institute; his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at The Cooper Union School of Engineering and Science; his Master of Business Administration (Management) at Middle Tennessee State University; a Doctor of Jurisprudence at the Nashville School of Law; and his doctoral degree in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) at Tennessee State University. He is a licensed engineer in the State of Tennessee. He had been. in management for various organizations for over 26 years, including 14 years as engineering manager for the Scovill-Schrader Automotive Division. He was also a successful business man of Sports N Trials in Belle Meade for many years.

Preceded in death by his parents, Josefine Knott Irlinger and Franz Seraph Irlinger; 1 brother. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Elsie E. Irlinger; sons, Frank E. Irlinger and Ron W. Irlinger (Donna); 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 1 brother; several nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and colleagues.
