Franklin Farley, age 82 of Nashville, TN went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2015.

Frank was born in Double Springs, TN on June 23, 1932 to the late James & Ida Farley.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers & 3 sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Louisa Farley; daughters, Lee Ann (Mark) Burney & Lisa (Troy Greenlee) Travis; 4 grandchildren, Alex Burney, Winston Burney, Jesse Travis & Hunter Travis.

"Frog" was an amazing athlete in the Cookeville area and excelled in basketball, football and played minor league baseball as a pitcher. He worked as a mailman and met the love of his life on his route. They married 6 months later and lived at the TN Orphan's home were they worked as house parents.

Once he completed his degree the family moved to Miami, FL where he worked as a math professor at Miami-Dade College for 27 years. Upon retiring they moved back to TN to be near their daughters and their Grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to be with his family. He was superman to them and set the bar high for them to follow in his Christian footsteps. He was also "Pa" to not only them, but to 100's of sweet little ones who attended the family owned childcare center where he was considered a rock star as he rode down to see them on his John Deere tractor. He lived his life putting other's first and even when he was battling his illness he asked others what he could do for them. He never knew a stranger and said they were just brothers and sisters you haven't seen in awhile. He left this world better than he found it. He wished to leave everyone one last reminder: to "Love thy Neighbor".

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Nashville Rescue Mission or Second Harvest Food Bank, in loving memory of Franklin D. Farley.

The Farley family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
