Freda Ashburn Moody
October 6th, 1940 - September 5th, 2020
On Saturday September the 5th, 2020, Freda Jean (Ashburn) Moody, loving wife,
mother, grandmother, sister and friend left this earthly home and returned to our
Father in Heaven. Freda was born on October 6th, 1940 to Ira New and Lessie
Mai (Love) Ashburn in Smithville, TN. She was raised in Nashville, attended and
graduated from Cohn High School and married the love of her life, William
(Bill) Moody in 1964. She chose the profession of secretary, lifting the spirits of
those she worked with and contributing to the success of the companies she
worked for over the years. She was a vibrant, charismatic, creative and caring
personality with a smile worth it's weight in gold. She and Bill raised one
daughter, Brandi, in Nashville and remained in her loved hometown until Bill's
passing when she moved to Austin, TX to live with Brandi, her husband Matt
and two very adored grandchildren, Ava and Wilder. Freda was a devout
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a testimony
of the Lord and His plan of salvation for all of His children. She shared her love
and passion for the gospel in many ways through various callings as she served
as Relief Society President, Sunday School Teacher, Bishop's Store House
Worker, Young Women's Counselor and Temple Worker. Her vibrance, love and
personality will be so missed until we meet again. She is survived by her
daughter, Brandi (Matt), two grandchildren - Ava and Wilder and her brother Jim
Ashburn as well many loved nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
