G. "Sam" Foster, age 74, passed away at NHC Healthcare in Dickson, TN on February 6, 2018. Mr. Foster was born in Nashville, TN on March 20, 1943 to the late Jesse Paul Foster and Lavinia Robertson Hill.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his son, George Samuel Foster Jr.; his granddaughter Rachel Foster Polk; and his siblings Jesse Paul Foster Jr., Daniel Lee Foster, Alvin Foster, and Sara Foster Kelley.
Sam is survived by his daughters Rhonda Ellis(Joe) and Theresa Polk(Steve); his grandchildren Steven Curtis Polk Jr., Frederick Wayne Polk, Samantha Morgan Polk, and Andrew Cannon Polk; and his great-grandchildren Dallas Taylor Davenport and Tara Grace Davenport. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and friends worldwide.
Sam's worldwide friends were met because of his joy for gambling and golf. Nothing made him happier than his time in Vegas. While he was there he would interact with people from all around the globe, and soon discover they shared the same interests. His family remembers that his favorite thing to do back home was fish, although beef was his meal of choice.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 10, at 11:00am at the Bell Tower in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 9, from 12:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service.
