Gary "GB" Lee Barker, Age 52, of Kington Springs, TN went to be with his Savior on December 28, 2013. He was born in Oxford, England on August 22,1961 to Harold Barker and Patricia Wells. Gary graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University and then completed his Master's Degree of Anthropology from University of Memphis. He was married to Donna McLain Barker for 27 years. Gary worked for TN Dept of Transportation as an Archaeologist for over 20 years. He was survived by his father, Harold Barker; mother, Patricia Wells; siblings, Stephen Barker, Richard Barker and Marianne Barker; wife, Donna Mclain Barker; daughter, Ashley Barker; and son, Gary "Austin" Barker. Pallbearers are Austin Barker, Hillard Liles, Randy Liles, and Ray Stepp. Visitation will be from 5-6 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at The Pavilion at Harpeth, 9090 Hwy 100. A life celebration service will immediately follow the visitation at 6 pm on Thursday at the Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to be made to: Friends of Kellytown, P.O. Box 150732 Nashville, TN 37215, in order to preserve this site for prosperity. Kellytown is an astounding archaeological site discovered and named by Gary during an investigation of this area which is located at Old Hickory Blvd and Hillsboro Road.
