Gary Nelson Loyd passed away in Ooltewah, Tennessee at the age of 78. He was born on March 23, 1939 in Nashville, TN, the son of William and Rose Loyd. Gary was a member of the first graduating class of Madison High School, and attended college at David Lipscomb. Upon graduation he would go on to be a highly respected accountant and partner at Tom Smith and Associates, where he would work for 50 plus years. He married Mary Ann Spahn in 1959, they raised a daughter Kimberly Ann, and a son, Todd Nelson. Gary also served in the Air Force National Guard and served as a deacon at the Bellevue Church of Christ for almost 30 years. Years after the passing of Mary Ann, Gary married Linda Raynor in 2001. Together they spent 17 wonderful years together creating new memories and traveling. Gary and Linda moved to Ooltewah, TN in 2015.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann in 1999, his father William, and mother Rosa Bell.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Ann and her children Logan, Connor, and Kaitlyn, and his great-granddaughter, Emma Bell; son, Todd, wife Amanda and their son's Brock, Battle, and Brewer. He is also survived by his wife, Linda and her children and grandchildren, Robin her husband Terry and their son, Cole and daughter Ally, Lisa and her husband Scott and their son Blake and her daughter Sydney, and Scott and his daughter Bailey and son Carson. He is also survived by two sisters Jo Ann Holder, and Janet Shoun.

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to the Alzheimer's Association of Middle Tennessee, 478 Craighead Street Suite 200 Nashville, TN 37204.
