Mildred Geneva Williams Jones preferred to be called by her middle name, Geneva, but the name she came to cherish above all was, "Mawmaw."

Geneva worked for many years in secretarial and childcare fields, but she would want to be remembered most as a loyal servant of her God Jehovah and a devoted mother and grandmother.

She described herself as a simple person. Many times she made the comment, "I don't need anything fancy." She taught us all that a simple life brings true joy and allows us time for the more important things.

She loved watching and caring for her many beautiful plants and flowers. She was famous far and wide for her banana pudding.

She thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her family visiting states from New York to Washington State and many places in between.

Each son, grandchild, great-grandchild and daughters-in-law received her undivided attention. She wanted to share in our accomplishments, comfort us during difficult times and encourage us to move forward. Most of all she reminded us that remaining under the protective care of our Heavenly Father was paramount.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Johnie and Mildred Lynch Williams; sisters: Juanita King and Vema Tanner; and brothers: Milburn and Junior Williams.
Survivors include sons: Steve Jones and wife Rhonda, Curtis Jones and wife JoAnn, and Jeff Jones and wife MinJa; grandchildren: Joshua Jones, Melissa Jones, Holly Martin, Megan Pingle, Sean Jones, Tessa Jones and Nathan Jones; Great-grandchildren: Melia and Rowan Martin, Simon, Piper and Violet Jones and Barrett Pingle; brothers: Bud, Babe, Lonnie and Kirky Williams; and sisters: Becky Tanner, Kay Williams and Janie Tanner.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 26 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at 2:30 PM in the Beech Grove Cemetery in the Pleasantville Community of Hickman County.
