Gerald Wayne Crabtree of Pegram, Tennessee died Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Thomas West Hospital; he was 72 years old.
Mr. Crabtree was an Alumni of the Old Bellevue High School '62 and MTSU; and a proud member of the Army Reserve for many years, and a dedicated long-term employee of AT&T.

Wayne's interests included: collecting antiques, glassware, crockery; restoring antique furniture; and LADY VOLS basketball. He loved archaeology and collected American Indian artifacts since the age of 10, amassing a vast collection, and discovering a new arrowhead, the Harpeth River point.

Landscape architecture and gardening were a big part in Wayne's talent. Building lovely rock walls and flowerbeds at each of the three homes he and Marge built over the years.
Wayne's kind and sometimes quirky personality, as well as his talents, will be missed, but undoubtedly remembered for a long time.

Mr. Crabtree, preceded in death by his parents Carlie and Hilda Rust Crabtree, is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marge Elizer Crabtree; daughters Cathey Lynn Roberts (David) and Emy Stewart (Jeff Kinney); grandchildren Mason and Sam Roberts, and Carlie and Kingston Kinney; brother Marv E. Crabtree; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Marshall Elizer; and sisters-in-law Barbara Reynolds (Harold) and Karen Elizer.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, June 16, 10:30 - 2:30, with a Memorial Service at 2:30; all at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville, TN 37221.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Ronald McDonald House, 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263 or to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
