Gerard Frances Lovell, 83, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on June 19th due to complications from recent surgery.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 26th at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Visitation will also be held there beginning at 9:30am. Inurnment of the ashes will take place at a later date in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.

Jerry was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on October 16, 1934. He studied at Abraham Lincoln High School and Iowa State University before serving in the US Army in West Germany.

Jerry was married to Mary Ellen (Mahoney) in 1960; they were married for fifty-seven years.

Jerry worked as an executive for a public utility for over thirty years, was an active parishioner in his church, and a loyal member of the American Legion and Rotary.

Jerry is survived by Mary Ellen, his son David, his grandchildren Ellie and Jack and a wide circle of close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to an educational scholarship program.
