Gillian Vera Eke

Mrs. Gillian Vera Eke, age 77, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away at home on May 13, 2022, with family by her side.

Gillian (affectionately known as Gill) was born in Ruthin, Wales on September 28, 1944, to the late Edgar Leonard Day and Vera Maisie. Gill grew up in South London, England, and was a World Champion Dancer, competing on TV and all over Europe with the Penge Latin American Formation Team in the 1960s. In recent years, she mostly loved spending time at home with family. She could often be found enjoying a glass of wine on the front porch, waving at neighbors, and laughing at her dog, Scotty, who would often chase the UPS van.

Gill leaves behind her husband of fifty-two years, Ken Eke; daughter, Karen (Craig) Rowe; son, Graham (Kari) Eke; grandchildren, Lauren Eke (12), Christopher Rowe (11), Oliver Eke (9), Kendall Rowe (9), and Elizabeth Eke (7); and her brother, Chris Day.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Gathering, which will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am in The Parlor at Brentwood Baptist, 7777 Concord Rd., Brentwood, TN 37027. A Celebration of Life service will begin soon after at 11:00 am in the Baskin Chapel. Please drive all the way around the church and enter through Entrance B as construction has begun in the worship center at the front.
