Gladys Baker Medlin - Age 91, of Nashville, formerly of Waverly, passed away August 1, 2017.

Mrs. Medlin was a loving, generous, energetic and loyal woman. She embodied the traits of a true mother, fiercely protective and always taking care of people. She was a devoted Christian woman and member of Westwood and Trace Creek Baptist churches. She was known as a worker all her life doing several jobs before finding her niche as a sales associate at Super X in West Nashville. After retirement she and her husband moved to Waverly and became avid farmers and trot line fishermen. Her family even nicknamed her "Catfish Granny." She especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She also loved watching family members play various sports and watching sports on tv. Most of all, she was so happy being a wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, James "Bub" Medlin; parents, Georgia Stanfield and Ike Baker; 7 sisters and 3 brothers. Survived by her children, Ron Medlin (Brenda) and Linda Gayle Medlin (Sam Miller); grandchildren, Michelle Hasty (Michael), David Medlin (Laura) and Lily Shettle (John); great-grandchildren, Jackson, Bennett, Mason and Baker Hasty; Piper, Deacon and Shelby Medlin; Bleakley, Logan, and Charlie Shettle; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
A Life Celebration will be held 2:00pm, Monday, August 7th at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with family and friends to serve as pallbearers.
