Glenda Mangrum

Glenda was born on November 15, 1950 to Edward and Annie Pewitt of Pinewood, Tennessee. She grew up on a farm, learning the values of hard work and family. She married her high school sweetheart Victor Mangrum and raised a family in Fairview. Graduating from TSU, Glenda taught in the Hickman County school system. She was a middle school reading teacher, Sunday school teacher, a Commodore fan, a Yellow Jacket fan, and really a fan of anything her children and grandchildren did. She was a lifelong lover of reading, supplementing her school classroom from her own personal library. Glenda hosted Church youth group events for her children and grandchildren for almost 3 decades. Glenda attended First Baptist Church for almost 40 years, serving in many ministries, from World Changers, Sr Adult Ministries, and Operation Christmas Child. She shared her love for Jesus with everyone in her life by both her words and deeds.

Glenda is survived by her loving spouse, Victor Mangrum, children, Kim (Ryan) Simpson, Andrew (Stacey) Mangrum and Mickey (Leah) Mangrum, grandchildren, Zachary (Alison) Mangrum, Brady Mangrum, Benjamin Mangrum, Colton Mangrum, Hudson Mangrum and Logan Mangrum, great-grandchildren, Meritt Mangrum and Alex Mangrum, siblings, Danny Pewitt, Wanda Jones, and Karen Morris.

There will be a visitation Monday January 23, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday January 24, 2023 from 8:30 am until the Celebration of Life 10:00 am all held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home 9090 Highway 100 Nashville, TN 37221.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
