Glenn Howard Hale was born July 17, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. He died March 20, 2017. Glenn attended Northwestern University before enlisting with the Army Air Corps and serving with 390th Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force, as a B-17 co-pilot based in Framlingham, England. After the war, Glenn graduated from the University of Iowa in 1948. There, he met Anita Ruth Hale. They were married in Amarillo, Texas on October 23, 1944.

Glenn worked for Mid-Continent Supply in Fort Worth, Texas, and Tide Water Oil in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before he and Anita co-owned Bulk Vendors Supply in Tulsa for 35 years, operating gum machines for service clubs in Oklahoma and Kansas.

Glenn was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma; First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and later, Forest Hills Baptist Church of Nashville, Tennessee. He enjoyed singing in church choirs for more than 40 years. He was a member of Kiwanis Club of Tulsa, the Eighth Air Force Historical Museum, and American Legion. After retirement, Glenn served with the RSVP Ambassadors assisting patrons at Tulsa International Airport.

In 2007, following the death of his wife, Glenn moved to Nashville to be near both his daughters and their families. He enjoyed living at Harpeth Meadows Senior Adult Community. And as a life-long Chicago Cubs fan, he was thrilled to see his beloved team win the World Series in 2016.

Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Anita Hale; his parents Lee and Betty Hale; his brothers Harold Hale and Ralph Hale. He is survived by his two daughters, Morlee Maynard (Ken), of Franklin, Tennessee; and Diane Moody (Ken), of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; three grandchildren: Hannah Moody of Brooklyn, New York; Jonathan Maynard of Franklin, Tennessee; and Benjamin Moody of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; sister-in-law Wanda Hale (Ralph), of Mounds, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held Friday, March 24th at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. with service following at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the 390th Memorial Museum in Tucson, Arizona.
