Gloria Marilyn Zelenenki, age 77 of Nashville, TN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2014.

Gloria was born in Newark, NJ on October 30, 1936 to the late Stephen & Olga Semanek.

Mrs. Zelenenki was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years; Harry Zelenenki, daughter; Lisa Carrie Margulies, grandson; Aidan Call, sister; Donna Accomando, nephew; Robert Hayes.

Gloria graduated from West Side High School in Newark, NJ and attended Montclair State College in Montclair, NJ. She was a professional vocalist with the Joe Lafferty Orchestra in NJ. She also performed as a featured vocalist with Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey and was on the Paul Whiteman radio show. She performed at Carnegie Chamber Hall in NYC. She met the love of her life, Harry, while performing a recital at Montclair Art Museum. She played piano and loved to dance. Music was her passion.

Gloria and her husband moved to Nashville, TN in October 2003 following the birth of her first and only grandson, Aidan.

Gloria was a promotional model at Bloomingdales and Sak's Fifth Avenue in NJ. She was also a homemaker.

Mrs. Zelenenki was blessed to have a loving and devoted caregiver, Margie Wilkett, who had been by her side for more than 7 years. Margie was Gloria's angel. She was also blessed to have a caregiver, Connie Krzywicki, who also provided loving and compassionate care. Margie and Connie's loving care allowed Gloria to remain at home by her husband's side for many years as they enjoyed each day filled with laughter, harmony, fun, passion and trust.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 12:00 PM thru 1:00 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home where a celebration of Gloria's life will be conducted at 1:00 PM.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of flowers and/or donations to the Wounded Warrior Project or ASPCA in memory of Gloria Zelenenki.
