Gwendolyn Annette Barnes, age 75, of Franklin went to be with her heavenly father Monday, May 6, 2019. She was born December 11, 1943 in Davidson County to the late James and Pauline Austin.
Gwendolyn was a beautiful lady that took pride in taking care of her family and her home. She is remembered by her family as being the best cook. Gwendolyn also enjoyed traveling to the beach, antiques, art, and bird watching.

Gwendolyn is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ernest Lee Barnes; daughter, Debra Barnes; son, Michael Barnes (Elaine); grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Barnes; son, Douglas Barnes; granddaughter, Haley Barnes; and sisters, Paula Myers, Cookie Garvin and Dorcus Jones.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and Friday from 12 - 1 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A life celebration service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers serving will be Greg England, Joel Myers, Keith Petty, Cody Barnes and Darryl Garvin. Honorary Pallbeares will be Terry Barnes, Steve Myers and Kenny England.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Gwendolyn's neighbor and friends, John and Janet Moran.
