Hal Gordon Sensing, age 71, passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee on July 22, 2020. Born on March 2, 1949 in Nashville to the late Dewey Doyle Sensing and Lida Knight Sensing.
Survived by wife Patricia Neely Sensing, son Hal David Sensing, and daughter Amy Sensing (Clint) Hill; grandchildren Katie Sensing, Darren Hill, Autumn Hill, and Griffin Hill.
Hal was a 1967 graduate of David Lipscomb High School and a 1970 graduate of David Lipscomb College. In 1991, he received a Masters of Education from the University of Tennessee. Hal served in the Tennessee Army National Guard for 33 years before becoming an adjunct professor and Military Advisor at Bethel University for 10 years. He lived in West Nashville and Bellevue for all of his 71 years. Hal was an active member of Bellevue Church of Christ and Sons of the American Revolution.
Visitation Tuesday, July 28, 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Wednesday, July 29, 9-10 am at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 29, at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with Jim Dillingham & Wayne (Buddy) Victory officiating. Funeral service will be live streamed online. Please contact Harpeth Hills Funeral Home and provide email for login information to view the livestream. Private burial on Thursday, July 30, at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
