Harland Audraine Roark, age 91, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully, Tuesday Nov 19, 2014, at the VA Hospital in Nashville. He was born in Carroll County TN, the youngest of nine children, to Sarah and Caleb Roark.
He is survived by the love of his life, Mable (Reed) Roark, wife of seventy-one years. He was a devoted husband and father. They raised three children, Linda (Jim) Kuzmick of Strongsville, OH; Dale (Julie) Roark of Orange Beach, AL; and Auga (Tommy) Gossett of Kingston Springs, TN. He has spent many moments playing with and watching his six grandchildren, shaping their lives by the example he lived. The grandchildren are Stephanie (Brian) Paczko of OH; Brittnye Kuzmick of VA; Nathan Mitchell of GA; Shannon (Roderick) Pack of KY; Will Gossett and Luke Gossett of TN. In the last nine years he has been blessed with three great grandchildren Hannah Paczko and Grace Paczko of OH, and Landon Pack of KY. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins are included in those he held dear. His family was his greatest enjoyment and he loved spending any time he could with them.
He leaves behind not only his family but many friends whom he cherished. Some of them will serve as honorary pall bearers: The Ford Happy Couples and the Pegram Breakfast Bunch.
Mr. Roark was a long time faithful member of Charlotte Heights church of Christ, retired from Ford Glass Plant in 1987, and honored Veteran of WWII.
The Roark family will receive friends on Sunday, November 23rd from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home where a celebration of Harland's life will be conducted on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 11:00 am with an hour visitation prior to service.
In Lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Charlotte Heights Church of Christ in loving memory of Harland A. Roark.
