Harry L. Coltharp

Harry L. Coltharp, 83, of Franklin, TN, passed away peacefully on November, 3rd, 2024 saying, “Take me home Jesus”. Harry was born June 20th, 1941 to James Wilma and Ruby Coltharp in Myrtle, Mississippi. 

 In 1963, he married the love of his life, Josephine “Jo” Brand. Harry and Jo were married for 61 years. 

 In his youth Harry attended New Albany High School in Mississippi and joined the Navy after high school. He served in the Navy for 9 and a half years. After serving in the Navy, he went on to work for Roadway express as a city truck driver for 30 years. Harry was a dedicated member and deacon of Bellevue Baptist Church for many years until he moved away from Memphis, TN. He placed membership at Brentwood Baptist Church and enjoyed serving on the welcome and prayer ministry teams. 

 Harry was passionate about missions and sharing the good news about Jesus Christ. After retirement, he enjoyed going on mission trips to Africa, Brazil, and the Philippines as well as engaging in local missions. Harry also enjoyed traveling, helping others, and spending time with his family. 

 Harry was a godly man who had a joyful view on life. He could either be found telling a joke or telling someone about Jesus. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. 

 Harry was predeceased by his father James Wilma Coltharp, his mother Ruby Coltharp, his sister Wilma Gunn, and his son in law James Reece “Spike” Noonan. He is survived by his wife Jo Coltharp , daughters Dana Noonan, Lora (Jamie) Hayes, his grandchildren Autumn (Daniel) Powell, Hunter (Sarah) Hayes, Tanner (Rylee) Noonan, and his great grandchildren Tucker and Drue Hayes and Sawyer Noonan. 

 Services will be held at Brentwood Baptist Church in Baskin Chapel on November 9th. Visitation will be held at 10 am with the celebration of life service to follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Love Worth Finding Ministries, an organization Harry has supported for years.
