Dr. Evans was a University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy graduate class of 1964, where he was also an adjunct professor. He was the recipient of the National Association of Retail Druggists multiple times. He served as president and vice-president in district meetings. In 1999, Haskell became the only pharmacist in the state appointed by 2 governors to be the President of The Oklahoma State Board of Health, where he served two consecutive terms totaling 9 years. In 2004, Haskell received the prestigious Bienfang Award - an award given to a pharmacist in Oklahoma who exemplify the characteristics of Professor Ralph D. Bienfang - service orientation, sensitivity to human needs, ability to communicate verbally and in writing, ability to inspire fellow practitioners, leadership within the profession, and a broad base of interests and accomplishments within and outside of pharmacy. Haskell owned three retail pharmacies in Lawton, OK; Haskell's Prescription Shop, Smokey's Pharmacy, and Wolf Creek Pharmacy. He served physician offices, clinics, and nursing homes in the local community. He mentored many pharmacist, but more notably his two daughters, who followed in his footsteps becoming pharmacists, as well. Haskell served in his profession faithfully for over 45 years.

Haskell Evans was a man of remarkable wisdom, character and compassion. He loved his family with all of his heart, and was completely committed to his faith in Jesus Christ, serving faithfully in his church, Central Baptist Church in Lawton, OK.

Dr. Evans, preceded in death by his parents Haskell Lee Evans, Sr. and Betty Alicia Gibson Evans. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 48 years Diane Marie Evans; daughter Kristin Ragsdale D.PH. (John); daughter Melissa Cuthbertson D.PH. (Duane); son Angelo Simeone (Rosie Goodman); grandchildren Madison Cuthbertson, Evan Ragsdale, Davis Ragsdale, Ella Cuthbertson, Phoenix Simeone, Brooklyn Cuthbertson, and Mikael Simeone; sister Paula Biondi (Richard); numerous nieces and nephews; favorite fur baby, Amber and many horses, cows, long horn and donkeys.

Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service beginning at 1:00; all at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
