Helen Dalphnee Richardson, born July 15, 1926, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2017, at the Lodge at Natchez Trace, from complications of Alzheimer's. Helen was preceded in death by her parents: Drewy Mack Richardson and Clara Mae Cook Richardson; brothers: Harold Richardson and Dorris (Martha Carolyn) Richardson.
Having lived on a farm, Helen's family moved from Hartsville, TN to her cousin, William Stephens' farm in the Pasquo community. She graduated high school at David Lipscomb, received her undergraduate degree from Lipscomb University, and earned a masters degree at Vanderbilt University. Her first teaching assignment with Metro Schools was at Harpeth Valley Elementary. In 1960, Westmeade Elementary School was built and Helen was appointed its first Principal. She remained at Westmeade as Principal until her retirement in 1990.
She was a charter member of Bellevue Church of Christ, where she worshipped until her health failed her.
After her retirement she enjoyed the Bellevue Garden Club where she held many offices and participated in flower arranging and judging at Cheekwood Gardens.
Helen is survived by many cousins; as well as Howard and Jan Anderson, Chad and Angela Anderson, and their children: Mattie, Tucker, Chloe, Maclain, Paylin and twins, Bodie and Piper, and Howie and Joann Anderson and their children: Lauren (Aaron) Anderson Powell and Wes Anderson.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10th from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:30 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy 100, Nashville. Burial will follow in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.

Howard and Jan Anderson would like to thank Dr. Charles Daniels for his excellent care, and the staff at The Lodge, especially nurse Heather and Ms. Erma, for making Helen's last 2 years the best they could be.
