Henry Albert Smith III died at Nashville Community Care and Rehabilitation at Bordeaux in Nashville, Tennessee on January 14, 2016; he was 77 years old.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents Henry Albert Smith, Jr. and Viola Fields Smith; sister Mary Margaret Vowels; and brother William W. Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mrs. Patricia A. D'Anna Smith, daughters Christina Noelle Getachew (Mikael), and Dr. Jennifer Hale Smith (Homer Hansen); grandchildren Hannah and Grace Getachew, and Julian Hansen; brothers Alfred C. Smith, and Robert F. Smith (Renate); sisters Sandra E. Edgecombe, and Joan R. Braxton; brothers Thomas W. Smith (Mary), Ronald E. Smith (Helen), Terrence L. Smith (Pamela); sister Melody A. Irvin (Milton), and brother Donald L. Smith (Thomasine); and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smith honorably served the United States Navy as an Electrician's Mate; and retired from Westinghouse / Northrop Grumman after 35 years.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a future date.
