Hershel "Ed" Luna, a steadfast presence of love and devotion, passed away on January 2, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on April 18, 1934, Ed exemplified what it meant to be a good provider and the bedrock of his family. His unwavering support and guidance have left an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Genevia Ann Luna; and daughter, Nancy K. Luna.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Melissa D Luna; son, Mike Luna; grandchildren, John Hardesty, Andria Spencer, and Dalton Luna; great-grandchildren, Makenzie Spencer, Madelyn Spencer, Luke Lynch, Abigail Lynch, Melody Hardesty, Hope Hardesty.
Throughout his life, Ed dedicated himself to his work as a machine operator at a fiberglass plant, where his diligence and commitment were evident. Yet, it was not just his career that defined him; Ed’s true legacy is found in the memories he created with those he loved. He poured his heart into everything from taking meticulous care of his yard, making sure it was perfect, to preparing breakfast every morning for his family. These small, yet meaningful, gestures spoke volumes about his love that filled their home.
Family and friends will fondly recall Ed’s cooking skills, especially his delicious burgers, BBQ, and deer meat, which brought everyone together for meals. His passion for cooking mirrored his enthusiasm for life, creating cherished memories that his family will endure long after his departure.
Ed was not one to shy away from adventure; he delighted in fishing, camping, and hunting, often immersing himself in nature’s beauty. These hobbies were not just pastimes; they were opportunities for him to bond with his loved ones, teaching them right from wrong and sharing in God’s wondrous creation. His wisdom and mentorship shaped strong foundations for those who had the privilege of calling him family.
Though Ed may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever resonate in our hearts. As we remember his steadfast love, support, and the lessons he imparted, we celebrate the life of Hershel "Ed" Luna. He will be deeply missed.
