Hilda Jones, age 74, passed away on February 16, 2024. Born in Kingston Springs, TN, on May 18, 1949.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years John Steven Jones; parents Arthur "Buck" and Johnnie T. Rust and brother Arthur Jessie Rust III.
Hilda is survived by her daughters Theresa Chandler (Bubba), Tonya Corley (Eddie); grandchildren Elizabeth Parrott (Dennis), Grady Chipman, Mathew Chandler, Nathan Chandler, Mckenzie King, Jeremiah King, Gabe Corley, Nick Corley; four great grandchildren; niece Kimberly Welte (Mark); nephew Kasey Rust; great nephew Luke Welte (Gabrielle); great niece Emily Webb (Zach), brother, Roger (Gail) Rust as well as numerous friends, loved ones and her Budettes.
Raised on a farm in Kingston Springs, Hilda's roots ran deep in the community where she spent most of her life. Her memories of those early days stayed close to her heart throughout her journey.
Hilda's love for teaching shone brightly throughout her 35-year career, leaving a mark on the countless lives she touched. Hilda's pursuit of knowledge led her to achieve a master's degree in education, further enhancing her ability to inspire and educate.
In addition to her teaching career, Hilda found joy in various hobbies and interests. She adored her late husband, John Steven Jones, who was her true love and companion in all things. She was an avid reader and enjoyed birds, bird feeders, and cows. She was a member of Highland Park Church and loved her church family and friends. Hilda's circle of friends extended far and wide, including the beloved Budette crew she held dear since her college days.
Services to celebrate Hilda's life will be held at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home in Nashville, TN. Visitation will take place on Friday, February 23 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday, February 24 from 9:00am to 10:00am with a Celebration of Life at 10:00am and the burial to immediately follow.
In honoring Hilda's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication, may we find solace in the memories she created and the lives she graciously touched. Hilda's spirit will continue to live on through her family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
