Howard R. Isaacs, Age 87, a native of Nashville, TN passed away on March 8, 2015 at St. Thomas West Hospital. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend.

Howard proudly served at the end of World War II stationed at the McCornack General Hospital in Pasadena, CA. The Hospital served as a convalescent hospital for Army personnel during World War II. Named after: (Brigadier General Condon C. McCornack), Medical Corps. While stationed there, Howard tended to surviving soldiers of the Pacific campaign. After his service, he attended Peabody/Vanderbilt Teachers College where he was very much involved in English Literature and Drama. He was voted President of his Senior Class, as well as President of the Peabody Players. After graduation, he went on to join South Central Bell/ AT&T in a managerial position. Before his retirement, he also donated his time and served as Chairman of the Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee from 1984 to 1986. He retired from AT&T in 1991 after 39 years with the company. He was beloved by his staff and colleagues throughout his many years of service.
An avid Tennis player, he won many city singles titles as well as State double Senior titles in Tennessee.
He and his wife, Faye, spent much of their time at their Jupiter Florida home enjoying tennis and the ocean with friends and family.
They were members locally of Hillwood Presbyterian Church.
Howard will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
He is preceded in death by his lovely wife of 60 years, Faye J. Isaacs (February 6, 2014), his parents: Mr. Edward Andrew Isaacs, Mrs. Elizabeth Louise Isaacs (Franklin, TN) sisters: Mrs. Helen Brackman (Tullahoma, TN) Mrs. Edna Goad (Clarksville, TN).
He is survived by his three sons: H. Steven Isaacs (Pegram), Allen R. Isaacs (Tokyo, Japan) and James R. Isaacs (Nashville).
A brief honorable ceremony and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at: Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221.
